Meredith Richards

Meredith’s practice approaches the themes of location and memory, with the aim of recreating a sense of place through the use of colours, pattern and texture in her constructed textiles. Focusing particularly on the aspects of place that stay with us long after a visit, Meredith distils key features of landscape into designs that evoke the original. This project has seen the designs further applied to portray the site of Grimes Graves through circular form – referencing the shape of the clearing within which it lies and on a smaller scale, the shape of the individual depressions in the ground that characterise it.
