Within Jess’ work, she mainly likes to explore the human form and portraiture, as well as different areas of identity. In her most recent work, she focuses on gender and sexual identity and representation. Jess also likes to play with plant life within her work – using them to expand and hint at different traits within the characters she creates. Her style varies quite a lot from piece to piece as she doesn’t have a go to method for each one – she likes to be more spontaneous. The main media she currently uses are watercolours and digital as she loves the texture from watercolours, but also the ability to clean things up and add in smaller details with a drawing tablet.
