Emma Bacon’s work is geared towards book illustration, as she designs work for fiction and non- fiction, including writing and illustrating her own children’s picture book for the Pan MacMillan award. The stories she works with range from Sherlock Holmes to children’s literature. The work itself is often colourful and bright using a mixture of digital painting and traditional media. Passionate about storytelling, Emma’s recent book was inspired by plastic in the ocean and the affect it can have on the environment and sea creatures. Stories which inspire come from all sources, from the everyday mundane to the extraordinary and the unexpected.
