“In every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks” John Muir
Chrissy is an illustrator and artist whose practice is located within narrative and editorial illustration. She is inspired by her profound connection with natural landscape, using drawing in-situ and drawing from film and photography to record the natural space. She is driven by the loss of connection with humans and nature and how this can have a detrimental effect on their well-being. Through her practice, she aims to encourage people to re-engage with the natural landscape to support their physical and mental well-being.
Her final piece is a live project with the Broads Authority and the RSPB. She has illustrated a booklet that documents her journey along the woodland trail at RSPB Strumpshaw. The booklet promotes this natural space as a place to relieve symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression.
