Our work looks at gestures that could be seen as offensive. Often if you are offended by a gesture you are the one receiving it, whereas if you are trying to be offensive, you are the one making it. However, this can vary depending on circumstance. By observing people, we have realised that language and environment form a vital context, which can change how gestures are understood. Our work is based on those observations, as well as research and stories shared with peers.
